    Brief

The University of Sheffield is seeking suppliers to provide a Two Component Resin Transfer Moulding Machine for the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre's Composites Group in Catcliffe, South Yorkshire. This machine will be used for research and development, allowing for the simulation of production scenarios. It must be flexible enough to accommodate various resin types, injection methods, and tooling options, and should be easily cleaned between projects, ideally through automated processes. The machine should primarily operate as a two-component system, with the capability for single component injections and a third stream for internal mould release. The budget for this procurement is approximately £130,000 (excluding VAT), but higher bids may be considered based on technical merit and available funding. The machine will be used to manufacture low volumes of prototype parts, mainly for the Automotive and Aerospace sectors. Interested suppliers can download the Invitation to Tender (ITT) by registering on the University’s e-tendering system at https://in-tendhost.co.uk/Sheffield. All questions must be submitted through the same system. Completed tenders are due by June 27, 2025, at 12 noon (UK time).
