Community Energy Support Network

This initiative establishes a grassroots energy safeguarding network across Gas Distribution Network (GDN) areas in partnership with the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE). The program identifies and trains local community organizations to support households experiencing fuel poverty through practical energy support services. Key components include: providing comprehensive training and tools to grassroots organizations; enabling integration of energy advice into existing community services; facilitating effective referrals to energy and income support schemes; establishing peer learning opportunities for knowledge sharing; and developing a mentor network to sustain organizational capacity and expand service reach. The program strengthens local partnerships and builds community resilience by leveraging trusted grassroots organizations already embedded in at-risk communities.
