Research on Emergency Preparedness and Societal Resilience

The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) is seeking to understand how individuals and households prepare for emergencies, focusing on various population groups, particularly vulnerable individuals and their companion animals. This research will explore the behaviors of the general population, with special attention to: - Older adults - Families with young children - Individuals with chronic health conditions or disabilities - Low-income or unemployed adults - Those with limited literacy or non-English speakers Additionally, the study will consider differences between rural and urban populations, as preparedness needs may vary by location.
