Building Improvements for Walsall Black Sisters Collective and Union of Muslim Organisations

Walsall Council invites organisations to undertake building improvements at Mayfield Community Centre, 17-19 Wednesbury Road, Walsall, WS1 3RU. The building is leased to two co-located organisations with separate entrances: Walsall Black Sisters Collective (WBSC) and Union of Muslim Organisations (UMO). WBSC works include: removal of security bars and scaffolding, replacement of external sash-style uPVC windows, essential roof repairs (slate, ridge, guttering, bay window), external brickwork repairs, replacement of decaying external doors, and repair of external entrance steps and handrails. UMO works include internal redesign to create a training and community welfare centre featuring: accessible toilets including a ground floor disability-compliant facility, operational kitchen for event catering, new office facilities with private consultation space, training rooms, and general complementary repairs. Suppliers should have experience in building refurbishment, structural repairs, accessibility compliance, and community facility design. The project involves coordinating works for two distinct organisations while maintaining separate building access.
