    Littleport Town Council is looking for a qualified contractor to design and construct a modern concrete skate park in Littleport, Cambridgeshire. This skate park will be a key community investment, catering to children, teenagers, and adults. It will be located centrally in the town, near the Littleport Youth and Community Centre, a children's play area, a wellbeing park, and a dog-walking park. The selected contractor will handle all aspects of the design and construction, including groundworks, drainage, surfacing, features, and necessary infrastructure. The design must accommodate various age groups and skill levels, adhering to all safety standards and planning regulations. Contractors must show relevant experience in similar projects and provide proof of qualifications, accreditations, and public liability insurance. Key requirements include: • Comprehensive design of the skate park, considering layout, features, and user experience for all ages • Site preparation and groundworks • Construction of the concrete surface and skating features • Drainage and civil engineering work • Compliance with safety standards (including those from Fields in Trust / RoSPA) • Ongoing communication with Littleport Town Council and relevant authorities • Provision of handover documentation, including as-built drawings and maintenance guidance. Contractors must demonstrate: • Proven experience in designing and building concrete skate parks of similar scale and value • Public liability insurance of at least £5,000,000 • Employers liability insurance of at least £10,000,000 • Relevant health and safety accreditations (e.g., CHAS, Constructionline) • Compliance with employment, equality, and environmental laws • Membership in a relevant professional or trade body is preferred (e.g., Freestyle Skateparks Association).
