    Brief

The United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory (UKNNL) is seeking applications from UK universities for funding a PhD project that must commence by October 2026. This project aims to support the UK's goal of establishing a secure and resilient supply of High-Assay Low Enriched Uranium (HALEU). UKNNL is particularly interested in applications that are supported by a Doctoral Focal Award. As this project falls under research and development, the procurement is being conducted under the Research and Development exemption of the Procurement Act 2023 (Schedule 2). UKNNL will host a mid-tender clarification call via Microsoft Teams to provide additional background on the project and answer any questions from potential bidders. This call aims to ensure a shared understanding of the proposal requirements. Interested participants can register for the call at the following link: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/national-nuclear-laboratory/t-oeeenyx.
