Waste Management Services for High Activity Sealed Sources (HASS) in the UK

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority is seeking a single supplier to support the national rollout of Operation Fieldfare, which involves managing high activity sealed sources across the UK. The successful supplier will provide comprehensive end-to-end waste management services for Caesium-137 sources contained in irradiator units, including: safe and secure collection, site planning and liaison, regulatory approval coordination, dismantling, transport, interim storage, processing, packaging, consignment documentation, and delivery to designated UK facilities (including Sellafield). The supplier must demonstrate capability in handling radioactive materials, maintaining security and compliance throughout the lifecycle, and coordinating logistics across multiple UK locations. This is a framework appointment for a critical national infrastructure project to safely manage and process existing sealed sources.
