Tankering, Industrial Cleaning and Water Sludge Services Framework

United Utilities Water Limited is establishing an integrated framework to consolidate tankering, industrial cleaning, and water sludge management services across its operations. The framework replaces fragmented legacy arrangements and provides a compliant procurement route for planned, reactive, and emergency services. Services include: collection, movement, transport and discharge of wastewater, sludge, sludge cake, and solids; industrial cleaning of operational assets; and collection, haulage, transfer and spreading of waterworks sludge. The framework comprises three lots: Lot 1 (Tankering Services), Lot 2 (Industrial Cleaning Services), and Lot 3 (Water Sludge Cake and Liquid Sludge Services). Admitted suppliers must meet minimum technical, operational, commercial, health and safety, environmental, transport and compliance standards. Admission does not guarantee work; specific requirements are allocated through separate call-off competitions that designate Active Call-off Suppliers for relevant service areas, regions, asset types and capacity needs. Non-active framework suppliers may be engaged for backup, resilience, overflow, emergency or continuity support when primary suppliers cannot meet demand.
