APHA Weybridge Science Estates Delivery Framework

Defra is developing a Science Estates Delivery Framework to support the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) at Weybridge, one of the UK's leading science and research campuses for animal health, plant health, and biosecurity. This framework will provide a flexible, expert route to market for construction, infrastructure, and specialist services needed to refurbish and develop high-containment and non-containment facilities at Weybridge and potentially across other Defra Group locations. Before launching formal procurement, Defra is engaging the market to understand supplier capabilities and capacity. Your feedback will inform the final procurement strategy, contract structure, and lot arrangements. The framework may include: Construction works (high/low containment facilities, mechanical & electrical, demolition, civil engineering, utilities, refurbishment, new build); Professional and technical services (design, project management, cost management, health & safety, commissioning, building control); and Specialist services (high-containment consultancy, acoustic, environmental, digital/BIM, fire safety, geotechnical works). Defra is inviting expressions of interest from organisations with experience in complex construction, infrastructure, engineering, laboratory environments, and containment facilities.
