National Cancer Audit Collaborating Centre – Service Delivery Contract

This is a 3-year contract to deliver the National Cancer Audit Collaborating Centre (NATCAN) for NHS-funded care in England and Wales. The core contract value is £11,145,600 (including VAT) or £9,288,000 (excluding VAT), with potential extension options for up to 2 additional years at £3,715,200 per year (including VAT) or £3,096,000 per year (excluding VAT). The potential ceiling value including extension and aspirational measures is £28,029,455 (including VAT). NATCAN hosts ten national cancer audits covering primary breast cancer, metastatic breast cancer, bowel cancer, kidney cancer, lung cancer, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, oesophago-gastric cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer and prostate cancer. The successful contractor will be responsible for delivering high-quality audit services focused on identifying and reducing unwarranted clinical variation, providing timely benchmarked performance data to healthcare providers, and supporting quality improvement across the NHS. Key responsibilities include reviewing and optimizing audit metrics, implementing technical solutions for data visualization, ensuring patient and public involvement, maintaining alignment with NICE standards, managing data linkages, and collaborating with NHS organizations, cancer alliances, and health boards. The contractor must demonstrate strong project management, robust statistical and methodological expertise, and the ability to produce accessible, timely audit outputs at multiple reporting levels (Trust, regional, ICS, and commissioner). Additional inflationary uplifts may apply to the contract price.
