Architect and Lead Designer for Heritage Conservation Project in Thetford

Thetford Town Council is seeking a consultant practice to serve as Lead Designer, Architect, Conservation Architect, and Principal Designer under both CDM Regulations and the Building Safety Act for a heritage conservation project. The selected consultant will lead design coordination during the Development Phase and prepare project designs for submission to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) Delivery Phase Application. You will collaborate with the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Structural Engineer, and specialist advisers to develop a comprehensive, fully costed proposal supporting a successful NLHF application. The project aims to remove a historic building from the Heritage at Risk Register while delivering inclusive community facilities, improving environmental sustainability, and supporting town centre regeneration. Work must demonstrate commitment to inclusive community engagement, barrier-free access, environmentally responsible design with carbon impact considerations, and sustainable operations rooted in community needs. You may be required to attend NLHF meetings and workshops as requested.
