Cleaning Services Contract - FitzWimarc School (2026-2029)

FitzWimarc School, a comprehensive secondary school in Rayleigh with approximately 1,800 pupils and 229 staff, is seeking a cleaning contractor to provide excellent facilities management services. The school is undergoing a major rebuild program through the Department for Education's School Rebuilding Programme, which will run for approximately five years and involve significant changes to site layout and temporary accommodation. The successful contractor must demonstrate flexibility, responsiveness, and partnership working to maintain safe, clean, and fit-for-purpose environments throughout this complex transformation. The contract covers core term-time cleaning and periodic deep cleaning services and runs for three years from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2029, with an optional two-year extension to 31 August 2031. The school values best value over lowest cost and welcomes innovative proposals to enhance cleaning services. Key requirements include: employers' liability and public liability insurance of at least £5 million, minimum annual company turnover of £1 million, and demonstrated ability to manage and develop cleaning staff. This is a two-stage Competitive Flexible Procedure with evaluation based on 35% price and 65% quality. The current annual contract value is £288,307.20 (total contract value: £1,441,536.00 for three years).
