River Restoration and Wetland Creation Project at Foresters Lodge

This project seeks an experienced Environmental Contractor to undertake comprehensive river restoration and wetland creation works. The contractor will design and install a two-stage floodplain system with a sinuous secondary channel, in-channel woody deflectors, and contoured swales to improve water management and habitat resilience. Key deliverables include: benching the right-bank floodplain and excavating a new sinuous flow channel fed by hillslope drainage to manage high-flow events; creating floodplain scrapes and pools for habitat diversity; installing woody deflectors using felled trees and root plates to redirect high flows into the floodplain; and excavating interconnected contoured scrapes across the site to capture existing drains and springs. These integrated features will reduce channel incision, minimize erosive forces during flood events, promote sediment deposition, improve water retention during droughts, and enhance climate resilience.
