    Brief

    Somerset Council is inviting tenders for the operation of public transport route 16, which runs between Huish Episcopi and Bridgwater. This service will operate from Monday to Saturday, with no service on Sundays or Bank Holidays. The minimum capacity required for the service is 35 passengers. Bidders can submit proposals based on two options: a cost basis where Somerset Council retains fare revenue, or a subsidy basis where the operator retains fare revenue. Please specify which option you are bidding for in your submission. The service is scheduled to commence on Monday, September 1, 2025, and will end on September 2, 2028. Somerset Council also has the option to extend the contract for an additional 12 months, up to a maximum of 2 years, depending on funding availability.
