Programmable Logic Controller Replacement for Industrial Laundry Washer System

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP) is seeking a qualified contractor to replace the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and software that controls the Continuous Batch Washer at Llansamlet Laundry Production Unit in Swansea. The facility processes approximately 35,000 linen items daily, making this a critical operational system. The contractor must: survey and map existing panel I/O and wiring configurations; supply and install a replacement PLC with compatible software interfaces; ensure continued operation of existing machine and control programmes; integrate with associated press PLCs and sorting systems; commission the completed installation; and provide comprehensive training for on-site personnel. All work must be completed outside normal production hours to avoid disruption. The project must be fully delivered, installed, commissioned, trained, and accepted by 28 February 2027, with invoicing completed by 31 March 2027. Contractors should have demonstrated experience in industrial automation, PLC systems, and operationally critical production environments.
