Mental Health Support for Looked After Children (2026)

This is an opportunity to deliver specialized mental health services for children and young people in local authority care. The service will be provided through West London NHS Trust and includes: direct clinical assessment and treatment for a defined group of vulnerable children; professional consultation and advice to social workers and care providers; brokerage and coordination of additional therapeutic services; and participation in care planning meetings. The service addresses identified mental health needs among looked-after children, improves access to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and supports better outcomes in care and placement planning. This is part of a jointly commissioned service within the local Integrated Care System, requiring coordination between health and social care partners.
