    Brief

Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) is establishing an Open Framework Agreement to procure Ambient Voice Technology (AVT) solutions for NHS Wales organisations and General Medical Services (GMS) providers. AVT solutions use AI-powered speech recognition to automatically capture and convert patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical documentation, reducing administrative burden on healthcare staff. Key capabilities include real-time transcription, AI-powered summarisation, automated clinical coding suggestions, template population, and integration with existing GP systems (EMIS Web). These technologies are designed to improve clinical documentation efficiency, reduce clinician workload, and enhance patient care by enabling staff to focus on patient interaction rather than manual note-taking. The framework agreement will support the adoption of innovative digital health solutions across NHS Wales General Practice.
