Young Carers Support Service Contract for Swansea

Swansea Council is seeking a provider to deliver a comprehensive Young Carers Service that supports children and young people who have caring responsibilities, along with their families. The service will provide early identification and timely intervention to help young carers balance their caring duties with their education and wellbeing. Key service components include: individual assessments, safeguarding and welfare oversight, emotional and practical support, respite care opportunities, youth club activities and group sessions, one-to-one mentoring, school liaison and engagement, community awareness raising, and coordination with wider support services. The provider will work collaboratively with Social Services, Health, Education and partner organizations to ensure effective information sharing, integrated support pathways, and access to positive childhood experiences. The service aims to build resilience within families, protect young carers' education outcomes, maintain their health and wellbeing, and enable them to participate fully in childhood activities alongside their caring responsibilities.
