    Brief

Natural England's Natural Capital Team is commissioning an evidence review to assess how effectively nature-based interventions deliver ecosystem services, benefits from nature, and risk reduction. This review will examine priority nature recovery actions identified in the State of Natural Capital Report for England 2024 and will: (1) evaluate the confidence level in ecosystem service outcomes for various nature-based interventions; (2) establish clear, evidence-based links between specific interventions and their ecosystem function, services, and benefits; and (3) provide practical, decision-useful evidence on nature-based solutions for use by environmental practitioners, businesses, planners, and green finance organizations. The successful applicant will synthesize existing evidence to support informed decision-making across multiple sectors on implementing nature-based interventions.
