The Big Peat Conversation: Public Dialogue on Lowland Agricultural Peatlands in England

This research project seeks to engage a diverse and inclusive public through deliberative workshops to explore the role of lowland peatlands in England. The initiative aims to understand public and community perspectives on the future use of these landscapes while balancing environmental protection, farming viability, and economic growth. Participants will help identify key principles and priorities for resolving competing land use demands on lowland peatlands. Findings from this dialogue may inform future policy development and land management decisions. This opportunity is suitable for organizations experienced in facilitating public engagement, conducting qualitative research, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder consultation in environmental and agricultural policy areas.
