    Brief

The Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) is seeking a strategic delivery partner to manage data collection, technology solutions, and statistical analysis for the National Joint Registry (NJR) – the world's largest orthopaedic joint replacement registry. The five-year contract covers NHS and independent sector hospitals across Northern Ireland, Wales, England, Isle of Man, Jersey, and Guernsey, with a core budget of £14.58 million (including VAT). The successful supplier will be responsible for secure data hosting, management and continuous development of the NJR's technology platform, data validation and quality assurance, statistical analysis and reporting, surveillance systems, and stakeholder-facing digital services. Key requirements include expertise in secure and scalable data services, information security and regulatory compliance, innovation in health technology, and collaborative partnership working. The supplier will support HQIP's ambitions to improve data quality and timeliness, enhance platform resilience and interoperability with NHS systems, advance reporting and analytics capabilities, strengthen cyber resilience, and enable responsible adoption of emerging technologies including artificial intelligence. The contract has potential for two-year extension and discretionary inflationary uplifts, with a potential ceiling value of £44.03 million (including VAT) when including aspirational measures and extensions.
