    Brief

Safe Families is seeking to provide customized support packages to 30 carefully selected families (15 referred by Children's Social Care and 15 through Stronger Families). The service will be delivered through a network of trained community volunteers who offer practical assistance and respite care when families face crisis or require additional support. Unlike private fostering or adoption services, Safe Families provides host family volunteers who offer short-term respite periods, functioning as trusted community members would in times of family difficulty. The program builds social capital within communities by strengthening local connections, improving community organization, and fostering local ownership while helping families achieve greater independence. Suitable for families needing temporary in-home support, emergency respite care, or community-based crisis intervention.
