    Brief

The Department for Education (DfE) and Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) are inviting current and prospective suppliers of adult and children's social care case management systems (CMSs) to an information session about a new Catalogue Agreement approach. What this means for suppliers: This session will explain how the government plans to use a Catalogue Agreement as the quality assurance mechanism for new data and interoperability standards being developed through the Social Care Data Standards Programme. You will learn why this approach is being adopted, how it will work in practice, and how your organisation can participate as the model develops. Why this matters: The Data Standards Programme aims to create a core set of standards for social care CMSs to improve information sharing between systems, enable earlier intervention, and enhance data consistency across the sector. When implemented, these standards will help practitioners access the right information quickly, improve people's care experiences, and support better decision-making at local and national levels. The Catalogue Agreement is an established model already used in the NHS and adult social care. It provides a structured, transparent framework for demonstrating compliance with standards and ensures consistent adoption across organisations. This is an opportunity to understand the requirements ahead of time and shape how your solutions align with these important sector-wide improvements.
