Fareham Shopping Centre Refurbishment - Arcading Works Contract

Fareham Borough Council invites expressions of interest from qualified contractors for a £6.5 million arcading refurbishment project at Fareham Shopping Centre. This initiative is part of the Council's town centre regeneration strategy, aimed at enhancing the shopping environment and visitor experience while supporting long-term viability. The works include refurbishment of internal shopping malls, public circulation areas, communal facilities, and entrances. As the shopping centre remains operational with multiple commercial tenants and regular public access, contractors must demonstrate proven expertise in: delivering refurbishment projects in occupied retail environments; creating phased construction programmes to minimise disruption; maintaining safe public access, emergency routes, and building services throughout construction; scheduling works outside trading hours (evenings, nights, weekends); managing logistics, deliveries, waste, and site segregation in constrained public spaces; coordinating with shopping centre management and stakeholders; controlling health, safety, noise, dust and vibration impacts; and maintaining high-quality finishes within programme and cost constraints. The procurement follows a Competitive Flexible Procedure with a Conditions of Participation (CoP) stage opening 26 October 2026 and closing 23 November 2026, followed by tender publication anticipated January 2027.
