    Brief

Swanley Town Council invites qualified contractors to excavate, remove, and reconstruct two existing footpaths to improve accessibility and durability. Footpath One spans approximately 355.4 linear metres and will be widened to 2.5 metres (excluding edging) to accommodate occasional vehicular access. Footpath Two will be extended from 29 to 62.3 linear metres with a finished width of 2 metres (excluding edging). The Council is evaluating multiple surfacing options including self-binding gravel, tarmac, and block paving, and contractors should assess suitability, durability, maintenance requirements, accessibility, and whole-life costs for each option. Work includes excavation, removal of existing materials, formation preparation, sub-base installation, construction to specification, edging, finishing details, and reinstatement. All work must meet professional standards with attention to site conditions, public safety, drainage, and accessibility. The Council seeks a cost-effective, durable solution offering long-term value for money. For site visits, contact George Brooker at gbrooker@swanleytowncouncil.gov.uk. Submit quotes to Ryan Hayman at rhayman@swanleytowncouncil.gov.uk.
