London Independent Visitors Service for Children and Young People

Hackney Council is seeking a London-based provider to establish and manage an Independent Visitors Service. The successful provider will recruit, train, and match volunteer independent visitors from the local community to befriend and support children and young people in care, including those placed within Hackney and those placed outside the borough. This service aims to provide consistent, supportive relationships for vulnerable children and young people. Providers must be based in London with their main economic activity delivered within London. The service is designed to improve outcomes and wellbeing for looked-after children through positive mentoring relationships.
