Battery Storage Connection - Grid Upgrade at Deerplay MWTS

This contract covers District Network Operator (DNO) grid infrastructure upgrade works required to connect a Battery Energy Storage system to the electricity network at Deerplay MWTS. The battery storage will maximize the use of the existing solar PV system by storing excess solar-generated electricity, reducing grid exports and improving overall system efficiency. The project includes both non-contestable works (network stability and security measures that must be performed by the DNO, Electricity North West Limited) and contestable works (cable installation and related activities). A competitive procurement process was conducted for contestable works, with four suppliers invited to bid; however, no quotations were received. As a result, the DNO will execute all works to ensure coordinated scheduling and maintain required quality standards. This is a specialized electrical infrastructure project suitable for suppliers with experience in grid connection, battery storage integration, and coordination with DNO requirements.
