    Brief

The Environment Agency seeks a contractor to conduct comprehensive flow derivation reviews at 13 selected gauging stations across England. This project will evaluate the current methodologies used to measure and derive stream flow data, identifying any limitations, uncertainties, or quality issues in existing flow records. The contractor will assess whether current approaches remain accurate, reliable, and suitable for their intended purpose. Where evidence supports improvements, the contractor will develop enhanced flow derivation methods and updated rating curves. For one specified station, the contractor may also develop a modelled high-flow rating if technically justified and feasible. This work is critical for ensuring the Environment Agency maintains accurate hydrological data for water resource management, flood forecasting, and environmental monitoring.
