Dovercourt Public Realm Improvement Scheme

This contract involves delivering a comprehensive public realm improvement scheme across the Dovercourt town centre, focusing on streetscape enhancements along the Kingsway corridor. The project comprises four key areas: (1) Dovercourt Railway Station Forecourt - footway improvements, reconfigured parking including accessible spaces, additional trees and benches, and replanter landscaping; (2) High Street Junction with Kingsway - new asphalt surfacing, highlighted crossing points, and advanced stop lines; (3) Harwich Library Forecourt - extended footway creating additional public space, new trees and feature seating, repositioned cycle parking, and repaved footways; (4) Marine Parade junction - concrete footway surfacing, upgraded paving, kerb realignment, new parking and disabled bays, carriageway resurfacing, and updated surface water drainage. The scheme includes adjustments to parking, cycle stands, and street furniture throughout to integrate with the new layouts and improve town centre accessibility and vibrancy.
