Supply and Installation of Primary Power Transformers - Multiple Sites Framework Agreement

Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution plc and Southern Electric Power Distribution plc (SSEN) is seeking suppliers to establish a multi-supplier framework agreement for the complete supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of medium power oil-immersed three-phase transformers across multiple sites. The transformers will operate at primary voltages of 33kV, 22kV, and 11kV, with power ratings between 1.5MVA and 40MVA. Each transformer must be designed to operate reliably in parallel supply schemes, capable of carrying full load if a partner transformer fails, and able to operate under reverse power flow conditions. The scope includes all integrated components: cooling systems, tap changers, control and monitoring equipment, transformer protection interfaces, initial oil fill, and full installation and commissioning services. SSEN aims to implement a standardised, modular transformer design approach to reduce design variation, improve manufacturing efficiency, enhance supply security, and support long-term network infrastructure investment. This framework creates multiple contracting opportunities for suppliers meeting the specified technical standards and delivery requirements.
