Lamp Column Electric Vehicle Charge Points Operator - Camden and Islington

The London Boroughs of Camden and Islington are jointly procuring a single Charge Point Operator (CPO) to supply, install, operate, maintain, and decommission a minimum of 1,100 lamp column electric vehicle charge points (EVCPs) under the Government's Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) scheme. Camden requires a minimum of 500 charge points and Islington requires a minimum of 600 charge points. The CPO will be responsible for all aspects of the charge point lifecycle, including any decommissioning at contract end. The project is funded through LEVI grant funding of £1,212,250, with the CPO covering any additional capital costs beyond this amount. Two separate contracts will be awarded to the successful operator, one with each borough, though procurement is conducted jointly to achieve the scale required by LEVI funding criteria. For Camden, the project includes provision for 500 new lamp columns to be delivered through the Council's existing public realm maintenance and improvements contracts. This is a significant opportunity for experienced CPOs to establish a substantial EV charging network across two London boroughs.
