Brief

The BBC seeks to appoint a pension provider to operate LifePlan, its Defined Contribution workplace pension arrangement covering BBC staff and employees of BBC subsidiaries including BBC Studioworks Limited, BBC Global News Limited, BBC Studios Distribution Limited, BBC Studios Productions Limited, and BBC Children in Need. The arrangement is currently structured as a Group Personal Pension (GPP) for UK-based employees and a Master Trust for non-UK based staff. LifePlan primarily covers BBC employees who joined after 30 November 2010, with some eligible earlier joiners. The appointed provider will be responsible for operating and supporting LifePlan through either a Master Trust or a combination of GPP and Master Trust structures. Key responsibilities include managing the investment proposition and fund range, providing digital member tools and portals, delivering member communications and engagement, supporting implementation and data transition, integrating payroll systems, providing employer reporting and governance support, and ensuring the pension arrangement remains competitive, resilient and aligned with regulatory requirements and market expectations. The BBC seeks an experienced pension provider with substantial scale, capability and long-term commitment to deliver value for members and support positive outcomes. Interested suppliers must register via the BBC's Jaggaer procurement portal, complete a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) for approval, and submit registration information electronically. This procurement will use the Competitive Flexible Procedure. Contract values and dates are indicative and based on stated assumptions which may affect actual contract value and timeline.
