    Brief

Forestry England invites experienced observation wheel operators to provide feedback on a potential seasonal concession opportunity at Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest, a premier South East visitor destination welcoming over 500,000 annual visits. The opportunity involves a temporary mid-sized observation wheel (approximately 30 metres high) during the Easter holiday period (18 March - 17 April 2027) as an initial 28-day trial under permitted development allowance. Bedgebury seeks operators who can supply, install, operate and remove equipment while maintaining compliance with ADIPS certification, CDM Regulations 2015, and Forestry England Health & Safety Standards. The site attracts diverse visitors including families, cyclists, runners and wellbeing users, alongside established attractions such as Go Ape, bike hire, a café and events programme. Forestry England welcomes proposals on delivery models and commercial arrangements including revenue sharing, fixed fees, minimum guarantees and ticketing approaches. Selected operators should demonstrate experience at parks, gardens, heritage venues or environmentally sensitive locations and provide details on technical requirements, infrastructure needs, installation timescales, staffing plans and relevant case studies. This trial may inform future opportunities if successful, with a possible permanent contract commencing March 2028.
