NIEN is establishing a Multi-Party Framework Agreement for transmission substation projects across two lots. Lot 1 covers large-scale substations (110-400kV) with project costs between £25-£100 million. Lot 2 covers medium-scale substations (33-275kV) with project costs between £1-£25 million. The scope includes turnkey delivery of complete substation works encompassing electrical, mechanical, civil engineering, and enabling works, plus associated overhead lines and cables within the site boundary. Contractors may be selected for either Design and Build (D&B) or Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) delivery models on a project-by-project basis. Equipment supply, including transformers and switchgear, is normally included in project scope. Free issue of equipment by NIEN is limited to projects where NIEN has pre-ordered equipment.
