    Brief

The Department for Education (DfE) is seeking expert panel members to help develop a Primary Oracy Framework that will provide non-statutory guidance for teaching oracy in schools. Panel members should have strong theoretical expertise in oracy and/or extensive practical experience delivering oracy programmes across the curriculum in various education settings. As a panel member, you will: provide expert input on content accuracy and deliverability; draft sections of the framework; attend regular meetings with the DfE and lead drafter to discuss scope and content; advise on evidence and best practice examples; review draft iterations; suggest sustainable delivery approaches; and support the framework's launch. This is a pro-bono role, though the DfE will reimburse reasonable travel expenses for in-person meetings. The selection process is open and transparent, with panel members appointed through an Expression of Interest. To apply, you must review the specification documents, complete the official EOI Application Form, and submit it to oracy.FRAMEWORK@education.gov.uk by 4pm on 26 October 2026. Applications must follow all instructions and provide only the information specifically requested to be considered.
