Essex County Council EV Charging Infrastructure Service Providers

Essex County Council is seeking service providers to install, operate, and maintain electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the county. The council has been allocated £8,382,000 under the Local Electric Vehicle (LEVI) fund to expand public EV charging access, particularly for residents without private parking. This opportunity comprises four 15-year concession contracts (with optional 12-month extension) requiring service providers to deploy and manage three types of charge points: standard street furniture (1+ sockets), multi-socket street furniture (2+ sockets), and flush-to-floor charge points (1+ socket). The goal is to establish an integrated network of at least 5,000 publicly-accessible charging sockets across Essex. Service providers will be responsible for installation, management, maintenance, and equipment replacement throughout the contract term.
