    Brief

The Police Fire & Crime Commissioner for Cumbria (PFCC) and Cumbria Combined Fire and Rescue Authority (CCFRA) have jointly commissioned specialist Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) services for their employees. This comprehensive programme provides mental health support to staff from Cumbria Police, the PFCC, and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, with a focus on building personal resilience and trauma processing skills. Services are delivered through specialist programmes available both remotely and face-to-face. The current contract is a direct award agreement running for 12 months to 31st March 2027, with an optional 12-month extension to 31st March 2028. During this period, the three organisations' Occupational Health Units will jointly undertake a service review to assess strategy, volumes, and requirements. A formal advertised procurement exercise is planned for 2027 to determine future service provision and structure. Suppliers interested in providing CBT services should note this review phase and prepare for the upcoming competitive tender process.
