Active Travel in Schools Programme Support

Sheffield City Council is seeking a supplier to deliver the Modeshift STARS programme, which promotes and enables active journeys (walking, cycling, scooting) to school. The programme works with schools to achieve accreditation levels that demonstrate commitment to sustainable transport. Current status: 60 accredited schools with 8 at the highest level. Key objectives include: expanding school participation and accreditation levels; increasing families choosing active travel; reducing vehicle traffic on school runs; improving air quality around schools; enhancing school entrance safety through coordination with parking services, school streets initiatives, and road safety teams; and collaborating with partners including Living Streets, Move More, and Local Sports Partnerships. The supplier will support schools in developing and delivering their own active travel initiatives while contributing to wider city sustainability and public health goals.
