UK Public Sector Earth Observation Data and Services Procurement

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) is procuring commercial satellite-derived Earth Observation (EO) data and services for use across UK public sector organisations. This procurement aims to improve access to commercial EO capabilities, reduce duplicate purchasing, enable data sharing across government, and support evidence-based decision-making. The procurement comprises two lots: Lot 1 – Core Commercial Earth Observation Data: Supply and licensing of commercial optical satellite-derived EO data for public sector use, including data, metadata, quality assurance information, and supporting services delivered through an access model. Lot 2 – Specialist Earth Observation Services: Specialist EO data products, monitoring services, and analytical capabilities through a single-supplier call-off contract (anticipated demand does not guarantee expenditure). Key Details: - Conducted through a Competitive Flexible Procedure via the CCS Space Technology Solutions Dynamic Market (RM6370) - One contract to be awarded per lot - Initial contract period: three years with option to extend up to one additional year - Supports use cases including environmental monitoring, infrastructure management, climate resilience, emergency response, agricultural monitoring, rural payments, and land management - Open to established suppliers, SMEs, consortia, and specialist providers Participation Requirements: Suppliers must be admitted to the CCS Space Technology Solutions Dynamic Market (RM6370). Suppliers not currently members are encouraged to apply for admission before the tender deadline. The Dynamic Market remains open for new admissions throughout its lifetime.
