    Brief

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) is seeking to establish a national framework agreement for Vehicle Restraint System (VRS) contractors to install, repair, and maintain safety equipment across Ireland's national road network. This framework will succeed the existing VRS contractor framework and covers VRS installations, repairs, civil works, embankment reprofiling, drainage adjustments, and installation of passive safety fencing. The framework applies to all national road projects including pavement overlays, realignment schemes, and major/minor road schemes, and is available to Local Authorities for regional and local road works. Up to six contractors will be selected to provide nationwide coverage. The contract runs for 36 months with a 24-month extension option. TII plans to incorporate the CO₂ Performance Ladder in future competitions to incentivize emission reductions, with voluntary participation. Term maintenance contracts for specific counties and regions will be awarded through call-off competitions during the framework period.
