Request for Tender: QQI Assessment Infrastructure Update 2026

The Qualifications and Quality Assurance Authority of Ireland (QQI) is seeking a contractor to help update its assessment infrastructure. QQI is responsible for quality assurance of education and training providers in Ireland, managing the National Framework of Qualifications, and setting standards for its own awards. This project involves modernizing QQI's systems for standards-based formative and summative assessment. The update may affect QQI's quality assurance functions, awarding body operations, and guidelines provided to all education and training providers. A key objective is to separate QQI's assessment policies and procedures (needed for its awarding functions) from quality assurance guidelines (applicable to all providers). QQI-specific assessment infrastructure will be prioritized for replacement. Stakeholders will be consulted through green and white papers before substantial changes are implemented. Suppliers should understand that this infrastructure focuses on quality assurance of assessment standards rather than guidance for assessing learners in specific situations.
