Children and Young People Advocacy Service in Buckinghamshire

CONTRACT AWARDED: Buckinghamshire is seeking a provider to deliver the Children and Young People (C&YP) Advocacy Service, a statutory requirement that ensures children and young people in local authority care receive support to have their voices heard and participate actively in decisions affecting their future. The service will empower young people to develop self-advocacy skills and provide them with mentors who can help shape positive futures. The advocacy service must support all vulnerable children in council care, including those with disabilities, asylum seekers, unaccompanied minors, children placed outside the county, those in secure units, psychiatric units and hospitals, and young carers lacking adult support due to parental substance misuse or medical conditions. Providers should demonstrate experience in youth advocacy, understanding of safeguarding requirements, and ability to support diverse and vulnerable populations. The service will help children understand care processes, participate in care reviews, and effectively raise concerns to protect their rights and wellbeing.
