    Brief

    The Local Government Association (LGA) is seeking up to 2 experienced Chief Executive advisers to support local authorities in delivering children's services leadership. This is a contract opportunity for former council Chief Executives to provide strategic advisory support to current council leaders, corporate teams, and political decision-makers. Contract Details: - Duration: Start immediately, ending 31 March 2027 - Time commitment: Up to 60 days - Daily rate: £700 - Maximum contract value: £42,000 (exclusive of VAT) Key Responsibilities: - Provide strategic advice and mentoring to council Chief Executives and leadership teams on children's services - Collaborate with LGA regional advisers to deliver a coordinated support programme - Build relationships with councils to understand needs and identify improvement solutions - Facilitate cross-council discussions on children's services challenges - Provide constructive challenge to local and regional approaches - Support councils at risk and promote best practice leadership - Broker mentoring and improvement strategies across authorities Eligibility: Candidates must have recent experience as a Chief Executive of a council with statutory responsibility for children's services.
