Regional Child Sexual Abuse Support Systems Development

This is a systems improvement project coordinated by Bluestar Project (a Community Interest Company partnering with The Green House charity) to strengthen responses to child sexual abuse (CSA) across the South West region. The project addresses inconsistencies in service provision across health, justice, safeguarding, and voluntary sectors that currently create barriers to accessibility, workforce confidence, and multi-agency coordination. Key activities include: conducting needs assessments in Devon & Cornwall and Gloucestershire; mapping existing services; developing and strengthening CSA pathways; workforce training and development; improving governance structures; promoting trauma-informed and CPS-compliant practice; and involving children, young people, and families through co-production. The work builds on existing successful initiatives in Swindon & Wiltshire and Dorset. The overarching goal is to enable every child affected by sexual abuse to access a timely, compassionate, and coordinated response by equipping the children's workforce with necessary skills and confidence, improving inter-agency collaboration, and embedding a culture of listening and believing. Bluestar brings proven expertise, having led national development of pre-trial therapy guidance, training, and accreditation alongside police and the Crown Prosecution Service.
