    Brief

This construction project involves the Phase 3 extension of Gremista Landfill in Lerwick, Shetland. The work includes earthworks (cut and fill operations), haul road construction, and surface water drainage infrastructure (ditches, pipework, and associated fittings). The new landfill formation will be lined with a 500mm bentonite-enriched soil layer, followed by a 2mm HDPE welded geomembrane basal liner, protection geotextile, leachate collection pipework, and a 500mm aggregate drainage layer. Additionally, capping works on the existing Phase 2 area will include placement of a 1mm LLDPE welded geomembrane and restoration soils. This is a substantial infrastructure project requiring expertise in landfill engineering, geomembrane installation, drainage systems, and civil earthworks. Suppliers should have experience with environmental containment systems, geotechnical construction, and large-scale site development.
