    Brief

Cambridge City Council is seeking expressions of interest from British Removal Association (BAR) accredited organisations to provide removals and storage services for the Civic Quarter Project. The contract will support the refurbishment of two council assets: the Guildhall and the Corn Exchange. Services required include packing, transporting, and storing heritage items (artwork, antiques, furniture) and technical equipment. The Guildhall decant will occur October-December 2026 with 2-year minimum storage, while the Corn Exchange decant is scheduled for January 2027 with 18-month minimum storage. Storage facilities must be located in the Cambridge area in a dry environment with consistent temperature control. After refurbishment completion, the supplier will return and reinstall all items. This is a preliminary market engagement exercise; interested suppliers should register via the portal, provide BAR accreditation proof, and optionally outline relevant experience. Contract dates run from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2029.
