Family-Based Community Support Service for Vulnerable Families and Care Leavers

Derby City Council seeks an innovative, community volunteer-based service provider to support children, young people, care leavers, and families with complex needs across the Derby City area. The service will operate from 1st June 2026 to 31st May 2028 (two years, non-extendable) with a maximum budget of £97,000 per annum (£194,000 total). The service aims to prevent children and young people from entering care by maintaining family units and providing tailored support to care leavers experiencing isolation and limited social connections. Using strengths-based methods, the service will work with families to build on existing skills, develop coping strategies, and enable them to manage life challenges independently. Service providers should demonstrate experience in community engagement, volunteer coordination, and supporting vulnerable families with complex needs.
