Gym Floor Renovation and Facility Upgrades at Mary Immaculate College

This construction project involves comprehensive renovation of a gymnasium facility at Mary Immaculate College's Tailteann T2 Building. The scope includes: (1) Complete removal of the existing gym floor down to the concrete slab, including removal of the underfloor heating system, followed by installation of a new 55mm screed layer and DPM (damp proof membrane); (2) Conversion of an existing storage room into a functional office space with new suspended ceiling, plasterboard partitions, painting, and skirting boards; (3) Structural modifications including breaking through an existing wall to create a new window and door opening from the cardio area; (4) Removal and replacement of the large gym entrance door; (5) Complete overhaul of the cardio area ceiling, involving removal of two separate plasterboard and metal grid ceilings and installation of a new unified suspended ceiling system; (6) Electrical work including relocation of the distribution board from the corridor to the new office and replacement of all lighting fixtures; and (7) Mechanical systems upgrade with new air conditioning installation, including outdoor units and new ductwork throughout. The new high-impact gym flooring will be installed by others. This project requires coordination across multiple trades and careful management of an active facility.
