Tyne and Wear Metro Network Renewals Programme

Nexus, the Passenger Transport Executive for Tyne and Wear, is undertaking a comprehensive renewals programme across the Tyne and Wear Metro network running from 2010 to 2032. The programme includes track renewals and refurbishment, station upgrades, and overhead line replacement across the entire metro system. Nexus is seeking suppliers to provide goods, services, and works across multiple disciplines including civil engineering and structures, building services, electrical and mechanical systems, overhead line work, permanent way (railway infrastructure), rolling stock, and signalling systems. This is a preliminary market engagement exercise to inform potential suppliers of the renewal programme scope and anticipated project pipeline through 2032, subject to funding approval. Suppliers with experience in rail infrastructure, transportation systems, and large-scale asset renewal projects are encouraged to engage.
