Shropshire Council Food and Catering Supplies Framework

Shropshire Council is seeking supplier input on consolidating multiple food and catering supply contracts managed by Shire Services, the Council's in-house provider serving approximately 140 schools and establishments across Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, North Wales, and the West Midlands. Scope includes: drinks and vending; kitchen disposables and light equipment; cleaning materials; grocery provisions; greengroceries; and Red Tractor assured marinated chicken. The Council is also exploring market capability for certified nut-free bakery products (biscuits and bakery items) as an optional addition. This is a preliminary market engagement to gather feedback on: contract packaging options (multi-lot framework, single prime contractor with SME sub-contracting, or two-contract split); preferred procurement approach; and suppliers' supply chain and delivery capabilities.
